7 Ideas for Making a Memory Book

Since our wedding we've been really invested in creating memory books.

We originally started with memory boxes - which were usually made up of keep shakes from our travel. Things such as ticket stubs, travel books, map and any other tip bits that reminded us of that trip but what about the photos.

What if you phone drops into the toilet with all of your fondest moments. I know you're going to say but what about storing it in the cloud and I'll say - so what if these things ceased to exist because something simply replaced it or it simply stopped trending.

Do your memories simply disappear? Are your memories tied to technology? And that's why we started to create our own memory - not for our website, not for social media but for us.

What is a Memory Book?

In the simplest of terms, a memory book is a collection of memories.

The great thing about your memory book is that its yours and you can add truly anything you want when creating it from illustrations to photos, text or even blank pages for you to complete.

So if you're thinking about creating your own version of a memory book but you're not quite sure where to start, here are a few ideas to get you started:

  1. 1. Wedding

This was our very first memory book - our wedding day! This was a special day in both our lives filled with people that we care about. Dedicate a second to your bridal party, family, friends and even the venue.

This memory book is even more special because of the persons who shared that day with us - those you travel from far, those who helped wherever they could and the love we felt on that day was something we would never want to forget.

  1. 2. Family Recipes

Do you love to cook? Do you have delicious family recipes that have been passed down from one generation to the next?

Gather up those beloved family recipes and don't forget to include those treasured family lunches, picnics and BBQs!

3. Old Family Photos

Gather photos that represent your immediate family members and anything other photos that reminds you of your family or life growing up.

Fun Tip: Find baby photos of family members for comparison!

4. Milestones

Milestones should be celebrated and remembered because it's so important to look back on your journey throughout your life to see how far you've come and most importantly, how much you've grown.

So but those special moments in print to be cherished forever!

5. Travel Photo Books and Getaways

These are perhaps one of my favorite types of memory books simply because we love to travel!

It's fun compiling those memories of trips (not just for your Instagram feed) but for you and your entire family to cherish

6. Awards and Achievements

Sometimes we can be so hard on ourselves because we are always striving to achieve the best "big thing". Social media has made it easier for us to critic ourselves, striving for perfection which simply does not exist.

Take some time to remember those achievement (large or small) because progress is better than standing still.

7. Journal

Remember than memory books are yours so get as creative as you wish! Leave some blanks pages so you can document the rest of your journey.

Alternative Suggestions: Pregnancy Journal, Vision Board, Happiness Journal
